چکیده

Industrial robots are increasingly used in various applications where the robot accuracy becomes very important, hence calibrations of the robot’s kinematic parameters and the measurement system’s extrinsic parameters are required. However, the existing calibration approaches are either too cumbersome or require another expensive external measurement system such as laser tracker or measurement spinarm. In this paper, we propose SCALAR, a calibration method to simultaneously improve the kinematic parameters of a 6DoF robot and the extrinsic parameters of a 2D Laser Range Finder (LRF) which is attached to the robot. Three flat planes are placed around the robot, and for each plane the robot moves to several poses such that the LRF’s ray intersect the respective plane. Geometric planar constraints are then used to optimize the calibration parameters using LevenbergMarquardt nonlinear optimization algorithm. We demonstrate through simulations that SCALAR can reduce the average position and orientation errors of the robot system from 14.6mm and 4.05 to 0.09mm and 0.02.

Using a Neural Network instead of IKM in 2R Planar Robot to follow rectangular path

Abstract— An educational platform is presented here for the beginner students in the Simulation and Artificial Intelligence sciences. It provides with a start point of building and simulation of the manipulators, especially of 2R planar Robot. It also displays a method to replace the inverse kinematic model (IKM) of the Robot with a simpler one, by using a Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network ...

Robot Calibration with Planar Constraints

This paper investigates issues related to robot calibration with planar constraints and, in particular observability conditions for the parameters of the kinematic model of the robot. Both singleand multiple-plane constraints for robot calibration are considered. It is shown that a single-plane constraint is n o d y insdlicient for calibrating a robot. It is also shown that by using a three-pla...

Optimization of the Kinematic Sensitivity and the Greatest Continuous Circle in the Constant-orientation Workspace of Planar Parallel Mechanisms

This paper presents the results of a comprehensive study on the efficiency of planar parallel mechanisms, considering their kinetostatic performance and also, their workspace. This aim is approached upon proceeding single- and multi-objective optimization procedures. Kinetostatic performances of ten different planar parallel mechanisms are analyzed by resorting to a recent index, kinematic sens...

Kinematic Calibration for Redundantly Actuated Parallel Mechanisms

We present a new kinematic calibration algorithm for redundantly actuated parallel mechanisms, and illustrate the algorithm with a case study of a planar seven-element 2-degree-of-freedom (DOF) mechanism with three actuators. To calibrate a nonredundantly actuated parallel mechanism, one can find actual kinematic parameters by means of geometrical constraint of the mechanism’s kinematic structu...
